Summary

Close range urban rifle fighting for defensive purposes. Emphasis will be placed on how to tactically manipulate the rifle and engage threats at ranges traditionally thought of as handgun distances. This is an eight hour class at our training facility.

 

Course Description

This novel class, popularized in area law enforcement circles in active shooter response training, teaches participants how to react effectively in fluid and rapidly evolving encounters at “urban” distances. This curriculum recognizes and circumvents the limitations of traditional theory-based, flat range training. Ours is behaviorally based training! Intro to behaviorally based theory of conflict and stress

Gross motor skills weapon manipulations

Zeroing of rifle or carbine for urban use

Marksmanship principles and fundamentals

Extreme close range shooting techniques

Traditional and unorthodox fighting positions under time

Run-and-Gun drills under time

How to diagnose and deal with stoppages of the rifle

Using lateral movement to save your life

“Buckle to cover” - behaviorally based use of cover

Buddy-up: fighting as a two-man team

Culmination Scenario Exercise

 

Course Logistics:

Approximately 8-hours of instruction completed in one day at our training facility. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of C.R.O.S.S. OMBATIVES FIGHTING RIFLE or equivalent. Valid government issued ID (e.g. Drivers License, Military ID or Passport).

 

CLASSROOM TRAINING PREPARATION:

Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class for check-in process

Feel free to bring drinks/snacks for classroom training

 

Training Preparation:

Ear and eye protection

AR-15/M4 variant, or AK pattern rifle with sling

300 rounds factory new practice rifle ammunition (no hand-loads)

Three rifle magazines (minimum)

Method of carrying magazines

Serviceable handgun and holster

100 rounds factory new practice pistol ammunition (no hand-loads)

Two magazines w/carrier or pouches

Clothing and/or head wear as weather dictates

Knee pads, elbow pads and gloves optional

Sack lunch and water

 

Adherence to Rules Required:

While in the classroom, the following rules MUST BE adhered to
at ALL TIMES:

NO LIVE FIREARMS

NO AMMUNITION

ALL WEAPONS UNLOADED & STORED IN CASE

 

Course Cancellation Policy:

NO REFUND/100 PERCENT CANCELLATION CHARGE if registrant cancels within 14 days of scheduled event; 50 PERCENT CANCELLATION CHARGE within 30 days of scheduled event. Due to myriad training logistics and staff instructor missions and obligations on and off site, there can be no exceptions to this policy.
