HANDGUN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2

 

Summary

This is not a basic marksmanship class. The skills and concepts in Essential Handgun Skills builds upon what is taught in our Level 1 class, and will instill further confidence in our students through intermediate reality-based training.

 

Course Description

Oftentimes firearms instructors don't understand or have the experience necessary to teach the dynamic realities of self-defense situations in their shooting courses. This ineffective instructional style leads to teaching outdated techniques, and in some cases promotes numerous bad habits due to flat range marksmanship dogma. This course will provide the beginner or intermediate shooter with the skills necessary to efficiently and effectively operate their handgun with a focus on training that is extremely useful.

Mindset and SNS activation

Nomenclature/familiarization

Carry methods

Use of force legal aspects

Awareness/avoidance

Realities of Imminent Threat Response

Training Philosophy- w/nature vs. against it

Law Enforcement intervention

Weapons manipulations

Response to malfunctions

Basic marksmanship skills

Vital defensive handgun skills

 

Course Logistics:

Approximately 8-hours of instruction completed in one day at our facility. Required Eligibility: There are no prerequisites required for attendance. However, all students will be required to provide a valid government issued photo ID (i.e., drivers license, military ID, passport).

 

CLASSROOM TRAINING PREPARATION:

Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class for check-in process

Pens, notebooks and course materials will be provided

Feel free to bring drinks/snacks for classroom training

 

Training Preparation:

Handgun- Students may bring their own handgun and ammunition. Any caliber is acceptable. If you do not have a handgun, we have a limited number of .22 caliber handgun rentals available.

Ammunition– bring 300 rounds of ammunition if using your own handgun.

Protection- bring eye & ear protection (example) & a ball cap.

Attire – bring clothing and shoes appropriate for outdoor range training, including rain gear – jacket, mud boots, etc.

Classes will be held rain or shine.

 

Adherence to Rules Required:

While in the classroom, the following rules MUST BE adhered to
at ALL TIMES:

NO LIVE FIREARMS

NO AMMUNITION

ALL WEAPONS UNLOADED & STORED IN CASE

 

Course Cancellation Policy:

Enrollees who cancel a scheduled course, for whatever reason(s), are required to reschedule for the same course, or like course, within 1-week after the originally scheduled course date. Enrollees who wish not to reschedule will be refunded 50% of the original tuition cost. No exceptions will be made to this policy due to the resources expended with class preparation based on registration/enrollment numbers.
