Summary

Advanced handgun skills really aren’t that advanced. What they are is the application of fully developed fundamental skills in a variety of situations. What this course will provide is an expanded selection of self defense techniques and realistic handgun fighting tactics.

 

Course Description

The course will introduce high standards of expectations when it comes to handgun proficiency. The skills taught will focus on efficient and effective responses when faced with armed encounters. An over-riding philosophy of teaching toward natural human responses we can expect to have in high-stress violent encounters will be presented in a way that makes each participant part of the teaching/learning process.

Review of skills previously taught (see level 2-3 course descriptions)

High Standards of Handgun Proficiency

Low-Light Skill Development

Self-Aid and Buddy Aid

One-Handed Handgun Manipulations

Extreme Close Contact

Force on Force Drills

Weapon Retention

This course may be physically demanding

 

Course Logistics:

Approximately 8-hours of instruction completed in one day at our training facility. PREREQUISITE: Handgun Level 3 or equivalent. Starting time will vary depending on the sunset schedule (to allow for reduced light shooting).

 

CLASSROOM TRAINING PREPARATION:

Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class for check-in process

Pens, notebooks and course materials will be provided

Feel free to bring drinks/snacks for classroom training

 

Training Preparation:

Handgun - Bring semi-automatic with at least two (2) additional mags

Holster - Bring a good quality holster

Ammunition - Bring 300 rounds of factory new practice ammo

Hand-held Flashlight- tailcap button and 60 lumen rating is best.

Protection - Bring eye and ear protection (example) along with a brimmed hat (example)

Attire - Bring a cover garment, preferably both a pull-over shirt and jacket. Shoes and clothing should be appropriate for outdoor range training. Wear comfortable shoes with good traction. Be prepared for inclement weather ... rain jacket, mud boots, etc. are good backup items to have available.

While in the classroom, the following rules MUST BE adhered to
at ALL TIMES:

NO LIVE FIREARMS

NO AMMUNITION

ALL WEAPONS UNLOADED & STORED IN CASE

 

Course Cancellation Policy:

Enrollees who cancel a scheduled course, for whatever reason(s), are required to reschedule for the same course, or like course, within 1-week after the originally scheduled course date. Enrollees who wish not to reschedule will be refunded 50% of the original tuition cost. No exceptions will be made to this policy due to the resources expended with class preparation based on registration/enrollment numbers.
